My name is Ashley and I’m half of the Dapper Deux.  The half that likes to write.  My husband and I were married in early 2016.  I’ve spent most of my life feeling a bit different.  A bit imaginative and quite happy in my own little world.  I enjoy beauty in all forms, quality over quantity, travel, and curiosity. I believe in always trying to be better today than I was yesterday.  And I found someone who shares that desire for polishing, refining and enjoying life.  Dapper Deux is our home to share with you just how we try to do that.  Hopefully, you’ll find ideas to inspire, relate and entertain. Please always feel free to leave a comment or reach out to us on Twitter or Instagram.  We’d love to hear from you!

Our Story

After a full day at Carnivale, a gondola ride and a decadent dinner, we went for a walk along the canals of Venice.  Under the low glow of a street light, hidden away from the bustle of the larger streets, I was standing on a bridge trying to capture the view with my iPhone.  When I turned around, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him.

We brought the story of our engagement to our wedding with a masquerade reception following our rather traditional ceremony.  Masks flown in from Venice were the gift du jour for our wedding guests and added to the ambiance.  The quartet played the night away and Italian wines were flowing in abundance under the low light of our table centerpieces: candelabras and tea lights.

Our photographer loved us and deemed us the dapper duo.

We believe in using fine china to celebrate the every day and we love to dress up for all occasions– exhibit openings, galas, shows, or just a weekend away in the wine country.  The idea of being weighed down by our things doesn’t excite us nearly as much as throwing out (or denying entrance to) excess.  Yet, our flirt with minimalism doesn’t stop us from trying to find the best of everything whether that’s the perfect hanger, chocolate or wine! The world has so much to offer; we will never get to experience all the places we want, but that doesn’t stop us from trying.

It’s a dream to find someone to play along side you building out the life you want to live together.
