Five Wardrobe Essentials for Autumn

The seasons are changing. I’m starting to put away my more summery outfits and prepare for autumn– I swear it’ll show up in Texas if I dress for it. It’s my favorite season and to celebrate I’ve compiled a list of my five of my wardrobe essentials for fall:

1. The Perfect Cape

I adore capes! Not only are they perfect for twirling around the garden, they make me feel feminine and sophisticated.

2. A Mid-weight Scarf

It’s not quite the season for wool scarves, but a silk scarf is a perfect accessory for fall. It can add style to your outfit or turn a v-neck into a blouse that won’t cause you a cold in slightly chillier weather.

3. Comfortable, stylish boots

The perfect time of year to swap sandals for boots. My personal favorite is jodpurs; despite the equestrian association, I find they can be worn with just about anything.

4. A Stockpile of Colorful Tights

In addition to the practical nature (keeping your legs warm as the weather cools),  I use colorful tights as a way to make some of my classic outfits a bit more youthful and a tad more fun.

These bright yellow tights get the most compliments.

5. The Perfect Umbrella

It never fails; the autumn season brings with it rainy days. Since falling in love with this gorgeous umbrella, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t appreciate the rain as an occasional excuse to pop it open and take a jaunt down the street.

Autumn is my absolute favorite season for so many reasons (such as pumpkin flavored everything) and the fall styles are near the top of the list.
